Premier Logistics will shortly begin offering a refused loads service at its new 200,000ft² home in Coalville, Leicestershire.
It took possession of the new site last week.
“We’re a mile off junction 22 of the M1,” said commercial manager Mark Steel. “We see a lot of scope for helping out operators travelling into, for example supermarket DCs, from the extremities of the UK.”
Steel said Premier would be offering to unload, store and reload third-party vehicles as part of the new service, or alternatively complete delivery using their own fleet.
“They’ll be a small cost for us to deliver the goods on their behalf but it will be far less than them potentially losing their back load,” said Steel.
Premier Logistics has had a busy 2013, recently adding yet more new units to its fleet, acquiring a second southern location in August, after its acquisition of Bill Chippington’s former St Albans depot in July.
