Pall-Ex has underlined its commitment to veterans’ mental health with a £25,000 donation to charity Combat Stress.

The donation, which is part of Pall-Ex Group’s 25th anniversary celebrations, will be used to provide life-saving work to support veterans with complex mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder. It takes Pall-Ex’s total 2021 fundraising efforts for Combat Stress to over £35,000.

Earlier this year staff took part in the charity’s annual March in March challenge, with participants marching, running, or walking a minimum of 10 miles, raising over £10,000.

A further contribution was made through Pall-Ex UK’s Penny-a-Pallet fund, which is generated from a penny being donated for every pallet moved within the network throughout the year.

Pall-Ex UK is an active supporter of the Armed Forces community, signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2019. Since then it has achieved the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) award from the Ministry of Defence.

Maggie Bennion, Combat Stress senior corporate fundraising officer for Combat Stress, said: “We are extremely grateful to Pall-Ex UK for their very generous donation of £25,000. As the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, we provide specialist treatment and support to veterans with complex mental health issues arising from military service.

“Pall-Ex’s donation will help us to continue supporting thousands of former servicemen and women across the UK to rebuild their lives.”

Kevin Buchanan, Pall-Ex Group’s chief executive, added: “As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we are delighted to be able to mark this special occasion and share our success with Combat Stress.

“The people it supports have made a vital contribution to our nation, so we are proud to assist with providing the valuable resources and services they need to adjust to civilian life.”
