Northamptonshire logistics firm Instant Despatch Services Limited (IDS), which trades as Loop Logistics, has joined an increasing number of hauliers falling into administration this year.
The Pall-Ex member, which specialises in general haulage, palletised deliveries, fulfilment and storage, has an operating licence for 50 trucks and 45 trailers.
According to the notice posted in the London Gazette this week, IDS has appointed joint administrators Glyn Mummery and Julie Humphrey of FRP Advisory Trading in Brentwood, Essex.
The notice adds that the company is in the process of changing its registered office address from Westgate Industrial Estate, Northampton to Warley Hill Business Park in Brentwood, Essex.
On its website Loop Logistics says IDS was founded in 2000 by founder Dennis Shaw, funded by the sale of his house. By 2005 the company had an operating licence for more than 30 vehicles and in 2010 it added general haulage to its services.
In 2016 IDS rebranded to Loop Logistics, as part of a modernisation strategy, and a year later joined Pall-Ex.
In 2020 Loop Logistics supported the NHS supply chain, delivering to one of the Nightingale Hospitals that had been set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic .
A year later the company expanded its operating licence to over 50 vehicles after landing a contract with a “major white goods supplier and distributor.”
Clients listed on the site include BSH Home Appliances, toy manufacturer the Intelex Group and global exhibition stand design and build supplier Nimlok
The company’s fleet is divided between the BSH Home Appliances site at Midlands Logistics park in Corby and at Loop Logistics’ headquarters at Westgate Industrial Estate, where the company operates a 600,000 sq ft warehouse.
A request for comment by Motor Transport Magazine from both Instant Despatch Services Limited and from the joint administrators has yet to receive a response.
