Evri is recruiting 10,000 staff to bolster its self-employed network ahead of the peak season and become a 1.4 billion parcel operator.

More than 7,000 ‘community courier roles’ will be created, while Evri Premium is recruiting 2,000 owner drivers to support the delivery network.

It said applicants with access to a long-wheel-base van are particularly suited to the role, but that it was also inviting interest from candidates without a van through its new ‘no van, no problem’ scheme.

The business is also recruiting roles within its wider operation, including locally based colleagues responsible for ensuring new couriers receive the relevant support and coaching.

Evri said revenues had increased by 29% in the last year following its completed merger with DHL eCommerce UK and group parcel volumes had grown by 17%.

It is now targeting a 40% increase in parcel volumes to 1.4 billion parcels by the end of the decade.

Carl Lyon, COO at Evri Group, said: “The Evri Group’s success is built on the dedication and expertise of our people, and by investing in our teams now, we not only prepare ourselves for another busy peak season but also support our future growth plans.”
