Amazon is set to add a key part to its final mile logistics network with the opening of a £68m sortation centre in Haydock in September.
The 98,425sq ft centre, located in Haydock’s M6Major.com business park, will receive and sort parcels from Amazon’s fulfilment centres and arrange their transportation to delivery stations, where they will be collected by drivers for delivery to customers.

These include three fulfilment centres in Doncaster and one each in Bolton, Coalville, Coventry, Daventry, Dunfermline, Dunstable, Gourock, Hemel Hempstead, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Rugeley, Swansea Bay, Tilbury and Warrington.
