Gridserve has announced an expansion of the electric freightway network with four more charging hubs for eHGVs located at Moto Knutsford North, Moto Medway East, Markham Vale Electric Forecourt and Stevenage Electric Forecourt.
These hubs will extend ultra-rapid charging provision for lorries into the North West, East Midlands and South East of England, with Gridserve hoping they will give more logistics businesses the confidence to switch to electric.
The new locations follow the launch of public eHGV hubs at Motor Exeter and Extra Baldock Services, where Gridserve said there had already been a clear and growing demand for reliable, ultra-rapid charging solutions for electric trucks.
In addition, five eHGV hubs are already under construction at Tamworth, Thurrock, Leeds, Chester and Strensham North.

Sam Clarke, head of eHGV programme at Gridserve, said: “The expansion of the electric freightway reflects both the strong performance we’re seeing at our live locations and the clear regulatory and commercial momentum behind zero-emission freight.
“Fleet operators need certainty, and they need infrastructure that matches their ambition.
“By announcing four additional eHGV hubs today – alongside the seven sites we are already building – we are demonstrating our confidence in future eHGV charging demand and our commitment to creating a nationwide network that will enable the electrification of road freight.”
