Montgomery Distribution has invested £1m relocating to a bigger depot on the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal with close links to the M1, M6 and A14.
The Palletways member has also acquired 25 Scanias and 23 forklift trucks across its regional depots in Belfast, Leeds, Preston and Rugby in response to growing demand.
Steven McBride, Montgomery Distribution MD, said: “Despite the challenges of recent times, our logistics services continued and our team worked exceptionally hard to keep vital shipments moving.
“The current climate places an even greater level of importance on efficient collections and deliveries and is the driver behind this significant recent investment.”
The company said it can now accommodate in excess of 5,000 pallets and movements have already increased by 100%, which it expects to see double again over the coming months.
