Direct Sameday Services said compliance control, fleet efficiency and reduced costs had all been achieved after it installed a telematics system from Microlise.
The Nottingham haulage firm needed a flexible system for its mixed fleet of vans and trucks and, after reviewing potential solutions, it opted for Microlise and its cloud-based Focus product.
Direct’s operations manager Robert Tann said it consistently offered insights to enhance its operation and there had been a “seamless integration” of its existing software with Microlise’s, which had enhanced processes.
The haulier said the remote tachograph download function eliminated the need for 23 HGV drivers to routinely travel between its Hucknall and Bulwell sites for downloads, saving 5,000 fleet miles a year.
Direct also said it had seen a reduction in insurance costs and an improvement in driver efficiency, vehicle safety and traffic incident handling.
“Collaborating with Microlise has been a transformative experience,” said a Direct Sameday Services spokesperson.
“The range of products we are using from Microlise has addressed our immediate challenges and positioned us for future growth, all the while providing a substantial return on investment.”
Microlise said Focus provided smaller operators with the same level of data and fleet performance information normally expected from a telematics solution for larger enterprises.
