Jennifer Swain, the MD at training and mentoring organisation Road to Logistics, has been awarded an MBE for her services to the industry.

The royal honour reflects Swain’s leadership and commitment to tackling one of the industry’s most critical challenges, the skills shortage.

Road to Logistics said she had built a reputation for developing new and innovative talent strategies that not only supported businesses, but also created meaningful opportunities for individuals who would otherwise face barriers to employment.

Swain introduced an ‘end-to-end’ model that is delivered in partnership with employers and backed with government funding.

Road to Logistics recruits in local areas, training individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds with a real job waiting at the end of the programme.

Learners also receive up to 12 months of post-placement support, including financial and wellbeing guidance, helping them settle in, stay in work and build long-term careers.

“Road to Logistics was founded on a simple belief, that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not,” Swain said.

“Since 2020, we have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of people facing barriers to employment into meaningful careers within our industry.

“Every learner who has trusted us with their future, every employer who has opened their doors, and every partner who has shared our vision has played a part in this achievement,” she added.

“I am immensely proud of this recognition, but even more excited about what comes next.”
