Cenex is calling on fleet operators to take part in a survey to assess operators’ charging needs, as part of a wider mission looking at the feasability of developing shared EV charging at hauliers’ depots.

The transport consultancy is working on an Innovate UK-backed project exploring the possibilities of shared EV charging for commercial vehicles at private depots, with the ultimate aim of providing fleets with access to a shared depot charging infrastructure.

Shared charging involves multiple fleet operators collaborating to use each other’s EV charging infrastructure at their depots when the chargers are not in use by their own vehicles.

By participating in the survey, fleet operators will help the project team identify gaps in its current understanding of fleet charging requirements, develop a better matchmaking platform to connect operators with suitable charging infrastructure, and improve the accessibility of EV charging for commercial fleets.

All information collected in the survey will be treated in accordance with Cenex’s GDPR policy and will be anonymised unless specific permission is given.
