Howard Tenens has continued its warehousing expansion with the purchase of a new Manchester site.
The facility, on the Stakehill Industrial Estate, has 53,350m² of storage space, as well as a “significant” yard area outside.
Howard Tenens said it bought the site in response to growing demand for warehouse space.
Jamie Hartles, logistics director, said: “As a national logistics business, Manchester further supports our continued growth. The added advantage of owning the sites means we can provide our customers with enhanced service options”.
The site is ideal, the operator said, because of its links to the A627(M) and junction 20 of the M62, as well as proximity to Manchester, Rochdale and Oldham.
Howard Tenens plans to refurbish the majority of the site, and predicts it will be fully operational by January 2017.
The company has also nearly finished work on a new site in the South West at Bristol Gateway, again to meet demand for additional capacity.
