Goldstar Heathrow is to install Microlise telematics products across its fleet in a bid to lower costs and boost efficiency.
The Slough-based operator has already begun its deployment, which will see it fitted to Goldstar's fleet of 100 trucks, 16 vans and 54 trailers.
Goldstar chose a host of Microlise modules, including 3G cameras, temperature monitoring and trailer tracking.
The operator decided to equip its fleet with the telematics equipment and software to lower its carbon footprint, more than 95% of which is caused by its vehicles.
Katie Crozier, head of HR, people, compliance and transport team at Goldstar Heathrow, said: “We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously.
“Over 95% of our carbon footprint comes from our fleet so our focus is on increasing efficiency, with the overall objective of reducing emissions and our impact on the environment. Microlise will be critical to achieving this," she added.
Nadeem Raza, Microlise CEO, added: “Goldstar Heathrow has shown its exceptionally high standards throughout the tender process and we are pleased to have been selected.
“With Fleet Performance I am sure Goldstar Heathrow will hit its target to reduce fuel expenditure and cut emissions making a return on investment in short order.”
