Temperature-controlled operator Gist has chosen Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1550 refrigeration system for its renewal of its trailer fleet.
Mounted on Gray & Adams trailers, Gist will replace 91 of its older trailers which will be used predominantly to move food products around the UK.
Gist said it hopes to run the new trailers for 12 years, with each one clocking up an annual 2,000 hours on the road.
The company has a long-standing business relationship with Carrier Transicold, and said it had chosen to renew its fleet with the Vector system because of its “low maintenance requirements”, which allow it to “maximise uptime” for its customers.
Sam de Beaux, engineering director at Gist, said: “Gist is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth, and having enjoyed a close working relationship with Carrier Transicold UK, we decided the Vector 1550 unit was the right choice to meet the needs of the business and ensure we are providing our customers with the best in cold chain performance.”
