Fraikin has created two new roles within the business to support its growth plans in the business's 40th anniversary year.
The two posts, commercial director and head of transformation, will be based in Fraikin's Coventry HQ, reporting to CEO Ed Cowell.
James Walker joins the business as commercial director from Ryder, where he worked as its sales director since 2013.
Walker said that the commercial vehicle sector is in an exciting era as it moves towards new technologies and data integration.
“With the commercial vehicle and supply chain market moving towards new vehicle technologies, increasing data integration and changing regulatory environments, this was a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in what is an extremely exciting time for the supply chain sector.”
Danny Alexander has also joined the leasing firm as its head of transformation. An Oxford graduate, Alexander served as an Army officer for 10 years before moving into the PR sector. He has spent the last five years working with the PR Consulting Group and Adam Smith International.
The head of transformation role Fraikin has created is geared towards finding areas where the business can tap into areas of potential value for customers and make positive changes to the business.
Alexander said: "The commercial vehicle and logistics industry faces a huge amount of change over the coming years and I felt this was a genuine opportunity to join a forward-thinking business where I could make a real difference.
“Part of my role involves looking closely at the longer term technological changes that will affect the automotive sector, such as automation, and how we maximise its potential in a way that’s right for Fraikin and our customers."
