Courier CitySprint has acquired Warrington-based Sameday UK, its 10th acquisition in three years.
CitySprint has acquired all of the firm’s staff and operations, including its local and national customer base, which it operates out of a site in Warrington. The acquisition expands its network to 2,500 couriers across 37 sites.
Since its management buy-out in 2010, it has acquired 10 courier firms, including Woking-based Eagle Express Worldwide Couriers and Thames Valley-based Scarlet Couriers in 2012, receiving financial backing from private equity firm Dunedin.
Sameday UK’s contracts will continue to be serviced out of the same site.
CitySprint chief executive Patrick Gallagher said: “The deal marks yet another important step forward in our growth strategy.
"We are the UK’s leading private same day distribution company, and we plant to keep increasing our reach through local acquisitions, to ensure that we can offer our customers the best possible service.”
