CitySprint has purchased the same-day operations of Thames Valley-based Scarlet Couriers.
The deal sees CitySprint acquire Scarlet Courier's same-day, overnight and international operations in Bracknell, as well as the company’s same-day courier operation in Slough.
Patrick Gallagher, chief executive, CitySprint, says: “This deal is another significant milestone in CitySprint’s on-going growth strategy. CitySprint’s extensive national reach is key to our success, so we’re delighted to be consolidating our presence in Berkshire.”
Following the deal, Scarlet Couriers will continue to run its APC overnight courier operations from four sites in Slough, High Wycombe, Reading and Uxbridge.
This latest deal follows CitySprint’s buyout of the courier operations of Lewis Day and Medical Services in November 2011.
CitySprint now runs a network of 35 service centres, with 2,000 couriers.
Gallagher adds: “Over the past 12 months, we have successfully integrated a number of new acquisitions into CitySprint.
"Once again, we have found a business that shares our cultural values and commitment to outstanding customer service. We will work closely with Scarlet Couriers to ensure that the transition runs smoothly.”
