Ceva Logistics has been awarded a three-year contract with tool manufacturer Snap-on Tools UK.
The $8m (£4.9m) deal will see it provide transport for Snap-on’s UK franchises. It involves making collections from its two product warehouses in Kettering and delivering products to Ceva’s warehouses for sortation, as well as unattended deliveries into secure premises.
The operator will use a dedicated fleet of 13 vehicles to deliver 700 pallets per week for Snap-on. Deliveries will be made into the closest warehouse to the Snap-on franchisee to improve efficiency for Snap-on.
Aldo Rodi, Snap-on MD, said: "We’ve moved from a solution using many different carriers to a managed operation from a high quality, reliable and experienced partner in Ceva. The key for us was to improve the quality of service for our valued franchisees.”
Jon Evans, Ceva’s account director, consumer and retail sector in the UK, said: “We are delighted to establish this new relationship with Snap-on, and more importantly make significant and rapid improvements in the delivery quality for its franchisees."
Ceva opened its third global centre of excellence at its Ashby-de-la-Zouch UK headquarters last month.
