Buffaload Logistics has acquired a majority shareholding in Spalding-based Temples Transport.
The deal follows Temples director Marcus Drury’s leadership at the Lincolnshire haulage firm, which he acquired in 2019.
The company relocated to a five-acre site in December 2024, which enabled it to expand and generate new business opportunities.
It currently holds an operator licence authorising 50 lorries and 50 trailers.
Temples Transport said the move by Buffaload supported an aim to enhance its sustainability strategy, focusing on reducing CO2e emissions and assisting customers in minimising their environmental impact.
Drury will continue in his role as MD; he said: “As we embark on the next stage of our growth, we’re excited to strengthen Temples Transport in partnership with Buffaload.
“Having worked alongside Ross, Julie and the Buffaload team, I’ve seen first-hand their unwavering commitment to sustainability.
“We want to travel with them on their journey to being the greenest temperature-controlled logistics network in the UK.”
Julie Feltwell, Buffaload MD, said: “This acquisition is an exciting step for Buffaload.
“Temples Transport is a perfect fit with our existing network and affords opportunities for greater synergies, adding value to both existing and prospective customers alike.”
This week Buffaload also announced that former Fowler Welch boss John Kerrigan would become its chief executive from 1 June.
