Boughey Distribution has received high grades for its warehouses and premises following audits for the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution accreditation.
Its ambient 238,000sq ft warehouse on Crewe Commercial Park (pictured) attained a ‘double A’ standard while, in an unannounced audit, the company’s 48-acre site in Wardle was awarded an ‘A+’ standard.
The BRC standard recognises best practice and facilitates a process of continual improvement through risk-based product safety management systems.
Boughey said 2020 had been “an exceptional year”, which saw it recording the busiest month in its 56-year history and managing unprecedented demand due to both the Covid-19 pandemic and preparations ahead of Brexit.

The extensive fit-out of the new warehouse in Crewe also took place at the height of the crisis.
“The news of us achieving the excellent BRC grades was a real boost for everyone,” said Danny Earp, Boughey warehouse operations director.
“Our team has worked so hard during the very tough recent months to keep vital food supplies moving around the country.
"To receive high-standard accreditations for both our original site and our new warehouse are a real testament to the high standards that radiate throughout the company and it’s all down to the great people we have working with us.”
