Cheshire-based Boughey Distribution is to open a new 237,734 sq ft warehouse at Crewe Commercial Park which will create around 100 new jobs for the local area.
Boughey, part of the NWF Group, provides storage and distribution services to the food grocery market and will use the new facility to accommodate increasing demand for space from its existing customers.
The company was established in 1964 and employs over 600 people at its headquarters in Wardle.
The new warehouse is expected to be fully operational during spring 2020 following an extensive fit-out over the next two months and will increase the company’s storage capacity from 100,000 to 137,000 pallet spaces. There will also be office accommodation and extensive staff car parking.

The majority of the new roles will be for warehouse operatives, with and without forklift truck expertise. Some administrative and warehouse management roles will be created and opportunities for LGV drivers.
Commented MD Keith Forster: “The new warehouse is in an excellent location being close to both Junction 16 of the M6 and our main base in Wardle. Our market remains buoyant and we expect to fill the new warehouse as soon as it becomes operational.
“It’s good news for the local jobs’ market too with the creation of over one hundred new jobs for the Crewe area. The new warehouse is easily accessible, will present first-class working conditions and we’re sure we will have a lot of interest from prospective employees.”
The warehouse has been built by developer First Panattoni and will be leased by Boughey Distribution.
