A government ban on truck drivers taking any break other than a 45-minute rest period in seven Kent boroughs from January next year has been slammed by the freight industry. Ford has become the latest CV manufacturer to sign up the FTA’s Van Excellence scheme. Launched in 2010, the voluntary scheme offers accreditation to those operators who can demonstrate high quality fleet management and systems compliance.
