Aztek Logistics - NHS (3)

Hertfordshire-based Aztek Logistics is reporting “record-breaking” volumes thanks to a sharp rise in kerbside home deliveries during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Pallet Track member said that the pandemic, combined with an increase in home working and a rise in DIY, is driving a sharp rise in b2c deliveries, resulting in record volumes.

During the past three months the company has seen a double-digit increase in service enquiries compared to the same time last year.

The additional volumes are being managed across its network of five warehouses in Letchworth Garden City, providing more than 140,000 sq ft of warehouse space.

Aztek is also providing free warehouse space for the local NHS East Ambulance to store PPE, as well as providing delivery for specialist flooring to Nightingale hospitals across the UK.

Pallet Track said it has also seen strong growth across the business during the pandemic, with a doubling in home deliveries across its 90-plus member companies.

Aztek Logistics MD Stuart Charter said: “The diversity of the product portfolio and the volumes coming through, particularly the growth in business to consumer deliveries, has boosted our business when other product movements have been affected by the slowdown in the economy – it really helps to balance our traffic flows.”

Pallet Track MD Nigel Parkes said: “Aztek is one of our bigger network inputters that has really embraced the pallet network model. It is a business that never stands still and is always looking for innovation and better ways of doing things.”
