A well-regarded and vital truckstop in Coventry will shut its doors for the last time on 27 January.

PJM Lorry Park, which has close links to all the major motorways, said its customers could park over the weekend of 25-26 January, but the site would need to be vacated by 5am the following day.

PJM MD Paul Moore said: “It is with great regret that we are forced to close the lorry park due to circumstances beyond our control.

“We’d like to thank our brilliant staff, partners, suppliers and, most of all, our fantastic customers for being part of this award-winning business over the last seven years.”

In a post on social media, the lorry park added that the lease had come to an end and was unable to be renewed.

The truckstop offer secured parking for 160 lorries since it opened in 2013 and won awards for its security and food at the restaurant, Route 45.

Drivers posted their commiserations on Facebook. One said: “It’s a great shame, was a good place to park.

“Always great food, best restaurant for truck drivers and all the staff were brilliant.”
