MTA judges 2019

The shortlist for the 33rd Motor Transport Awards has been revealed – and once again DPD UK leads the field with five entries making the cut, including Customer Care, which it has won in four of the last five years.

DPD is hot on the heels of TNT, which won a record 33 trophies, with 27 titles including its forebear Parceline and must be confident of adding to its tally when the winners are announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 3 July.

Wren Kitchens is shortlisted for four awards, including Safety in Operation while Restore Datashred has been shortlisted in three categories, including the new Urban Delivery Operator of the Year, as has Ocado which is in with a shout for the title Home Delivery Operator of the Year.

Other companies in with a better than average chance of winning include ArrowXL, City Plumbing, Fowler Welch, Hermes, McCulla, O’Donovan Waste, Pall-Ex and UPS all with two nominations each.

Interestingly, both Volvo with the FH and FM and DAF with the CF and XF have two trucks shortlisted for Fleet Truck of the Year, proving that operators value evolution over revolution when it comes to their fleet workhorses.
