Prolog, a Nottinghamshire warehousing, distribution and logistics provider, has been put up for sale after entering administration as expected.

In a statement Rebecca Dacre and Simon Chandler of Mazars confirmed they had today (26 November) been appointed as joint administrators of Promotional Logistics, which trades as Prolog.

“Prolog is a provider of warehousing, distribution and logistics services, with 618 employees based at two sites in Nottinghamshire and Suffolk.

“All staff have been notified and no redundancies have been made. Thanks to the support of all of Prolog’s employees, as well as its customers, the company is continuing to operate while the joint administrators seek a purchaser,” the statement said.

Mazars added that the business had already generated significant interest from potential buyers, and the joint administrators welcome further enquiries.

Prolog has O-licences authorising 16 HGVs out of its Sherwood distribution park depot, plus another seven from a site in Sudbury, Suffolk.

The last available accounts for Prolog showed that it increased turnover to £34.8m in the year ending 31 March 2017 (2016: £32.9m). However, it made a pre-tax loss of £1.13m (2016: £1.14m).

Companies House records show that a new business, Prolog Fulfilment, was incorporated on 20 November 2018. It shares a common director with Promotional Logistics, Neil Daniells.
