Mike Stephenson MD for ILG and Andy Fitt MD for Yusen Logistics UK -

MT Top 100 company Yusen Logistics UK has snapped up e-commerce delivery and fulfilment firm ILG, in a move it claims will catapult it into the top ten of UK logistics providers.

The deal, completed on 1 August, could deliver a 12% revenue boost to Yusen Logistics, which ranked 21 in the MT Top 100 last year with an annual turnover of £231.1m.

Set up in 1990, ILG provides warehousing, fulfilment and delivery, with additional expertise in the fashion and beauty sectors.

Today, ILG has more than 175,000ft² of warehousing, with over 220 employees serving more than 700 clients worldwide.

Yusen Logistics described its move as “a direct response to changing market behaviour”. It did not disclose a value for the deal.

It provides end-to-end international supply chain services, which will now give ILG and its customers additional expertise in customs brokerage, cross-border logistics, and access to a further 82 locations with 7 million ft² of warehousing across Europe.

No changes to the current ILG management team are expected, and it is very much ‘business as usual’ for all ILG customers.
