The Salvatori Group has opened a new £3m site in Sittingbourne for its Palletways work .

The operator has recruited 45 new drivers and 18 warehouse staff for the new site, which will operate for 24 hours, six days a week.

With the new site specifically for Palletways operations, Salvatori will move its work for the network out of its depots in Aylesham and Medway. The operator moves around 1,200 pallets for the network on a daily basis.

The new site, group CEO Daniel Salvatori said, "will help to focus our Palletways operation and improve the speed and delivery of our services".

The site has space for 1,800 pallets and 16,000ft² of racked storage.

Palletways UK MD Rob Gittins, who was promoted into the role last month, said: “Salvatori makes a significant contribution to the strength of Palletways. We’re confident the new Sittingbourne premises, dedicated to its Palletways business, will enable them to become more successful within our network.”
