Sutton, who joined the company in 2008, spearheaded the company’s sales and new business operations, specialising in the Palletways arm of the business.

Looking back at her time at A Salvatori, Sutton (pictured right) said: “During my time at Salvatori, I feel that I’ve really thrived being part of such a supportive environment and being involved in the company’s growth over the years. The transport industry never gets boring – there’s always a new challenge ahead – so I never wanted to leave!

“My favourite memory has to be winning the Palletways Southeast Regional Sales Award in 2017, and the Apex Award in recognition of sales excellence and achievement in 2021.

“It’s been a real pleasure to work with the Salvatori team – now I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and friends and getting the chance to try my hand at new hobbies.”

Salvatori has appointed new starter Melissa Aalpol to replace Sutton as the company’s new business development manager.

The company said Aalpol brings extensive experience in business development, sales, account management, customer service, event management and technology solutions across several industries to her new post.

Alongside her professional career, Aalpol has also had a long-standing involvement in grassroots football, holding business development and regional representative roles, working closely with clubs, leagues and County FAs to develop partnerships, introduce technology solutions and support club growth.

Aalpol said: “I’m incredibly excited to be part of the Salvatori family, having been drawn to the company’s long-standing history as a successful family-run business and the values that come with that.

“Logistics has always interested me, and with family members working within haulage this role is the perfect fit.

“I’ve been settling in well and have really enjoyed getting to know the team while establishing new connections and partnerships across the industry.

“The future looks incredibly exciting, particularly with the continued growth of the Palletways network.

“I’m looking forward to playing a key role in that journey by helping raise the profile of our Palletways operations within the logistics community, showcasing how we’re making a real difference for our customers through our service, reliability and people.

“Finally, I’d like to wish Carole a wonderful retirement. I hope she enjoys every minute of this exciting new chapter, and I wish her all the very best for the future.”

Remi Martysz, Salvatori company director, commented: “We’re hugely thankful to Carole for her many years of service – she’s achieved great success in her time at Salvatori, and the team will miss her greatly. We wish Carole all the best in her well-deserved retirement.

“The team is excited to welcome Carole’s successor, Melissa, who joins us with fantastic credentials in sales and business development, and a keen interest in the logistics industry.

“We’ve been impressed by Melissa’s quick progress, with strong leads already on her radar. We look forward to seeing her continue to grow with the company.”
