DPD has opened two new facilities after reporting its volumes had surged 40% year-on-year. The carrier has opened a site in Barking for the first time, with a new, purpose built 45,200ft² depot. DPD has also replaced its Nottingham depot with a new 60,000ft² DC in the area. DPD is to deploy and additional 200 staff and open an extra London depot to minimise disruption resulting from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
