Canute Group has confirmed that its operations director Gary Sharp has retired. Sharp joined the firm in 2013 and according to the company’s website had responsibility for all logistical operations. Essex-based Canute Group has bought its 12th warehouse site, a facility in Great Blakenham, Suffolk. The development marks the 12th site to be added to Canute’s expanding portfolio of facilities throughout the UK, following the addition of the Coventry and Warrington depots. Almtone-owned Canute Group has narrowly avoided being wound up by HMRC after the taxman raised a petition against it. This came as the amount the firm owed to creditors ballooned to more than £135,000.
