Unite has launched legal action against two agencies, used by Wincanton and the Co-op, which the union claims are using “sham and bogus” self-employment practices. The claim was served against ADR Network and PPF by Unite on behalf of HGV driver Gary Sharrock. Wincanton has selected Bandvulc Group as its tyre supply and maintenance contractor.
Wincanton has signed a contract renewal with WH Smith, which will see its relationship with the high street retailer reach two decades. The logistics provider has won a three-year extension, as part of a collaborative transport agreement, that sees it delivering for a mixture of 30 retailers and manufacturers. By sharing loads it has enabled Wincanton to reduce the number of deliveries it makes, splitting costs among participants while cutting carbon emissions.
