DPD topped £1bn of turnover for the first time in 2016 and the Motor Transport Award multiple winner said it is aiming for £2bn of turnover by 2025. DPD’s software subsidiary Pie is to launch its London Lorry Route Approver (LLRA) app next month – its first major product update since changing its name from Pie Mapping last year.
DPD is to give its self-employed workers new rights including sick pay, annual leave and a pension as part of a new driver code, which comes after the death of a self-employed driver earlier this year.
DPD plans to offer consumers more delivery options to reduce the number of failed delivery attempts, following an upgrade to its Predict service. The service was launched in 2012 and notifies consumers of a one-hour slot when they can expect their parcel to be delivered.
