Senior traffic commissioner Beverley Bell is one of the star speakers at the Microlise Transport Conference on 17 May next year. Bell, who was appointed as traffic commissioner for the North West in 2000 and senior traffic commissioner in 2012, plans to update delegates on the Office of the Traffic Commissioner’s strategic objectives to reduce the burden on compliant operators and target the serially and seriously non-compliant operators and drivers.
DAF engineers to be behind the wheel when HGV platoon trial takes to UK roads within the next few months
The UK’s first on-road HGV platooning trial will begin in spring next year with a convoy of three wirelessly connected DAF trucks driven in the first phase by the manufacturer’s engineers, Highways England has confirmed.
