A dividend of nearly £5m is to be shared out among Palletforce’s 86 member shareholder members as part of the biggest pay out in the network’s 13 year history.
ACS&T has signed a new five-year contract extending its work for Italian food manufacturer Ticco Foods. The firm, which runs two Ticco-liveried trucks, will receive inbound goods at its Wolverhampton depot from suppliers in the UK and Italy, create consolidated loads and deliver them to customers nationwide in the food service sector – primarily restaurants and high street retailer cafes, wholesalers and brokers, said ACS&T MD, Malcolm Johnstone (pictured, right). The Co-operative Group’s consolidation of its logistics operations in the South West at a new operating centre in Avonmouth will be completed by April, despite continuing concerns from union Unite. The group’s food wing ceased operations at Chelston, Torbay earlier this month and the Co-op’s Portbury, Bristol site will close on 6 April.
