Britvic has ended its distribution contract with Eddie Stobart, and Wincanton is understood to be handling movements from 1 April. Industrial action at Wincanton’s operations for customer HJ Heinz in Wigan has been averted after URTU members accepted a fresh proposal over pay.
Wincanton revealed in a trading statement today that the plummeting cost of fuel has had “no material impact” on its bottom line, adding that the business continued to trade in line with expectations.
