Royal Mail has signed a new contract with River Island, building on the work it already does handling the retailer’s customer returns. The two year contract will see Royal Mail collect customer deliveries from River Island’s main warehouse in Milton Keynes and deliver them to homes across the UK. Wincanton has delivered a “boringly predictable” set of results for the six months to 30 September 2013, with group turnover down 1.6% at £542.3m and operating profit up 2.1% to £24.2m compared with the same period last year.
Culina Logistics has won a national distribution contract with natural sugar alternative firm Total Sweet. The contract, which began in September, will be operated out of Culina’s warehouse in Leighton Buzzard and will see it deliver pallets to retailers such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Holland & Barrett, using its shared user network across ten sites.
