LoCity has released a new video encouraging commercial vehicle drivers to adopt an ‘eco-driving’ style to save on fuel costs, reduce emissions and minimise vehicle wear and tear.

The video follows the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, welcoming this week’s High Court ruling that the government has broken the law by failing to tackle nitrogen dioxide air pollution levels.

Sadiq Khan described the outcome of the case, brought by environmental legal group ClientEarth, as a “wake-up call” for action to be taken to improve air quality.

In response to the air quality ruling, the FTA said the government must now change tack in regards tackling emissions and stop penalising the road transport industry.

LoCity is a five-year industry-led programme launched by TfL to encourage uptake and understanding of low-emission commercial vehicles.

LoCity also showcased a free Commercial Vehicle Finder tool, designed to provide fleet operators with information about alternatively-fuelled vans and trucks, at the expo.
