Gefco, the logistics arm of PSA Group, saw its global revenue rise 12.9% in 2011 as it prepares to embark on what it describes as a “decisive year” for the company. For 2011 Gefco reported global revenue of €3.8bn, compared to €3.4bn a year ago, and an operating income of €223m (2010: €198m). Excluding its PSA business, revenue was up 19.2% to €1.4bn. JSC Russian Railways (RZD), is in talks to buy 75% of Gefco, the logistics arm of cash-strapped car maker PSA Peugeot Citroën for €800m (£640m). PSA Peugeot Citroën said the proposed deal should speed Gefco’s growth by creating a business with enhanced reach in logistics services linking Europe and Asia.
