Wincanton has selected Bandvulc Group as its tyre supply and maintenance contractor. The deal covers not just the supply of new Hankook tyres to the operator’s 4,000-strong fleet through its fleet management arm Bandvulc Plus+ but also the supply of Bandvulc tyres as well. Bandvulc Plus+ will also provide administration support and bespoke data reporting. The launch of Maritime Transport’s intermodal division followed by its acquisition of Wincanton Container Logistics helped boost pre-tax profits last year by 41% to £13.3m.
Wincanton has secured two new distribution contracts: a five-year deal with military equipment supplier General Dynamics UK and a three-year contract renewal with Adidas.
After revealing its positive outlook for the rest of the current financial year last week, Wincanton’s continually increasing share price has hit its highest point since the MT Tracker began in January. The company updated investors that it had performed well in the first quarter of its current financial year, despite slipping container volume.
