Gefco UK has extended its sustainable packaging contract with plant manufacturer Caterpillar BCP. The deal, which began with a trial towards the end of 2014, will see Gefco continue to deliver its plastic ‘GefBox’ containers to Caterpillar suppliers and collect them again from production sites. Gefco has signed a seven-year contract with General Motors to manage inbound and outbound logistics for the US car maker across Europe. As part of the deal, which starts in 2013, Gefco will supply GM assembly sites in the UK, Poland, Spain, Germany and Russia from European suppliers and worldwide export ports. JSC Russian Railways (RZD), is in talks to buy 75% of Gefco, the logistics arm of cash-strapped car maker PSA Peugeot Citroën for €800m (£640m).
