WH Malcolm saw both turnover and profit climb in its most recent financial year. The Linwood-based logistics and construction services group, saw turnover in the year to 31 January 2015 rise 11.2% to £199.9m (2014: £179.7m). Trading profit, before asset gain, increased 11% to £7.1m (2014: £6.4m), which the multi-modal operator described as a good performance given the relatively low growth being experienced in the wider UK economy. Abbey Logistics Group is to reboot its expansion strategy following a “self-imposed” pause on growth during 2015.
Abbey Logistics Group made a pre-tax loss of £3.6m for the year ended June 2018, after taking short-term pain for long-term gain as part of its self-set target to achieve an annual turnover of £100m by 2022.
