Logistics firm CM Downton is continuing its winning streak in the food industry sector clinching a series of contracts worth around £2m a year. The spate of wins follows CM Downton’s major investment over the past 12 months in its fleet and warehousing facilities. Former Bibby Distribution head of business development, David Hutchings, has been appointed to the newly created role of head of business development at Gloucestershire-based CM Downton. Downton, which won the Motor Transport Haulier of the Year Award in June and has doubled its turnover in the last three years, says Hutchings will be key to achieving its targets for further growth. Prior to joining Bibby, Hutchings held senior business development roles at Wincanton and Christian Salvesen.
