Bibby Supply Chain Services (previous Bibby Distibution Services) slipped back into the red before it sold its training arm System Group at the turn of the year.

For the year to 31 December 2014, Bibby posted a pre-tax loss of £3.6m – including a £728,000 operating loss in continuing operations and a £2.2m operating loss in discontinued operations.

In the previous financial year, Bibby had reported a profit of £4.6m.

Year-on-year turnover was flat at £242.3m (2013: £241.4m).

According to documents filed at Companies House, Bibby described 2014 as a difficult year for its distribution business, with “new business gained in 2013 not performing as well as expected”.

Bibby sold System Group to Bridgewater Human Capital on 13 January.

In February, Oliever Hecht was named as MD and supply chain subsidary Bibby Distribution, after former MD Paul Kavanagh joined R Swain.

Mike Brown, group portfolio director for Bibby Line Group, has overall oversight of Bibby Supply Chain Services a role previously performed by Iain Speak who left the business in 2014.
