FedEx saw UK turnover and pre-tax profit jump last year as it continued to integrate express carrier ANC into its network.

The UK branch of the parcel delivery firm, which came 21st in Motor Transport’s Top 100 for its figures for the financial year ending 2013, saw a 7% increase in pre tax profit on the previous year, rising from £31.9m to £34.2m for the year ending May 2014.

Its turnover increased by 5% on the previous year’s results, rising from £219.4m to £230.2m.

The company bought the domestic express carrier ANC in 2006, and has been working to integrate this strand of the business with its other UK operations since.

Speaking to Motor Transport last year, Trevor Hoyle, vice president operations, UK and Ireland, for FedEx Express and FedEx UK, said: “Whilst we still have two legal entities in the UK, to a large extent we are integrating some functions.

“We have completely integrated our sales teams now. Operationally we’ve been moving ever closer together, and over the last 18 months to two years we’ve been starting to synergise and move our operations under the same roof for last mile delivery.”
