The Woodland Group – parent company to Woodland Logistics – has signed a three year contract with automotive aftermarket supplier Comma Oil and Chemicals. The new deal will see the Essex-based freight forwarder and haulier move approximately 10 million litres of lubricants, chemicals and ancillaries for Comma annually transporting them mainly from its UK manufacturing site to Scandinavia, the Baltic region and Eastern Europe. Confectionery manufacturer Fini Sweets has outsourced its warehousing and distribution in the UK to Palletways’ warehousing business Palletways Fulfilment.
European chemical transport giant Hoyer has acquired the bulk liquid division of Dutch logistics company De Rijke. The deal sees Hoyer take on 240 employees at five De Rijke offices, including its site in Preston Brook, Cheshire. Across Europe Hoyer will add to its operations: 1,500 tanker containers, 130 tractors and 300 tanker trailers and chassis. SJ Bargh has signed its first entirely organic milk contract with the Organic Milk Suppliers Cooperative (Omsco) The three-year deal will see the logistics company collecting around 50 million litres of milk a year from farms in Central England, North Wales, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
