Abbey-tanker

Abbey Logistics Group has renewed its contract with food manufacturer ADM International for the distribution of refined oils and fats across the UK.

The contract involves the movement of products from two sites in Purfleet and Erith and sees the relationship between the two firms reaching its 20th year.

Dave Coulson, commercial director at Abbey, declined to specify the duration or value of the contract but said the renewal was “great testament to our partnership with ADM over the years despite significant competition in a very competitive market place”.

He also told Motortransport.co.uk the deal was expected to involve increased volumes, compared to previous work for ADM. “We’re talking around 30 bulk liquid loads a day – about 15% extra,” he confirmed.
