William Stobart is set to return to Eddie Stobart Logistics (ESL) if equity firm DBAY Advisors succeeds in its bid to buy the troubled haulier.
Stobart Group says its transport and distribution division Eddie Stobart has experienced “mixed fortunes” since March. In the past four months Eddie Stobart says its ambient transport and warehousing operations have been performing well and is “witnessing more new business opportunities than in previous years”. Asda has renewed Wincanton’s contract to manage and operate the supermarket’s DCs in Doncaster and Larne, Northern Ireland. The renewal runs until early 2016, and extends a relationship begun in 2005 at Larne and 2007 in Doncaster, which was Asda’s first NDC for general merchandise.
