Trailer manufacturer Montracon has revealed that it has become the sole distributor of trailer-mounted container lift Swinglift in the UK. Swinglift is a side-loading lift that is fitted directly to the trailer and allows operators to lift or remove containers from trailers, or transfer them from one trailer to another, without the need for external lifts. Roadways Container Logistics has returned to profit despite a fall in turnover and a warning that rates in the market remain depressed. For the year ended 31 December 2011, Roadways achieved a pre-tax profit of £319,000, compared with a pre-tax loss of £697,000 in the previous year. Brit European Transport is investing in a fleet of 24 new dual-fuel vehicles to service a contract with long-term customer and construction equipment manufacturer JCB. The firm, which has worked with JCB for 15 years, has just signed a new five-year deal with optional two-year extension to distribute finished JCB products from production sites in Staffordshire to dealers and export ports around the country.
