High street retailer Next has extended its contract with Hermes extending their relationship to over 30 years. The four-year contract renewal will see Hermes continue to provide home delivery for Next Directory customers until 2022, a contract it has held since the retailer launched it as a mail order operation in 1988. Hermes has disputed claims that it pays its couriers less than the minimum wage, after an investigation by The Guardian suggested some of the carrier’s self-employed workers earn as little as £5.50 an hour.

DPD’s smartphone-friendly website has smashed the one million unique user milestone, with more than 2.5 million parcels tracked via the online service in its first six months of operation.
