UPS is set to acquire TNT Express NV in a deal that will create a €45bn (£37.4bn) global logistics firm. The deal values the Dutch firm at approximately €5.16bn, following its increased offer of €9.50 per ordinary share. TNT UK made a pre-tax loss for the fourth year running in 2017, during a lengthened reporting period that brings the company in-line with parent company FedEx’s financial year.
